Would you believe, I actually just missed bumping into the person who handed me this LP back in 2000, whom i haven't met with since. More importantly, I couldn't let the chance for a comment here go by. Anyway, the original LP has Sankar sporting a slick gel-ed back hairdo, and a shimmering silver 'top', on the back little-reproduced cover. May be you've heard of the actual stories, like when Zappa bribed the singer not to show up, so Sankar would have to sing - with a flu, and his feet 'knee deep in heaters' that were placed all across the studio. Anyway, that one pic is a relic; this being his first venture out of india (i think), has him looking unlike he's ever looked ever after, to the point of making this a little odd. The pic does look weird, to say the least. The album plays at least once every weekend on my pod now. Side B, track 1, has started off more waking days of mine than i can count. That LP got recorded to tape, and circulated extensively, until i found the cd download. Guess what, i hope to meet 'him' again, and he says, he has Sangam, City Lights, for me. And may be even Chuck Mangione's Land of Make Believe. No connection in titles. I missed meeting him coz i was feeling too edgy getting my new job. - Jaideep
